Replacement Cost Value

What it costs to replace your roof brand-new, today, at current local prices. The full job.

ACV

Actual Cash Value

RCV minus depreciation — the aged, used value of your roof at the moment of the storm. Your insurer pays this first.

Recoverable depreciation

The held-back amount

The gap between ACV and RCV. On an RCV policy your insurer releases it as a second check once the work is completed and verified.

Deductible

Your share

The set amount you agreed to pay on a claim. On most approved storm claims, it's your only out-of-pocket cost. By law we can never pay, waive, or rebate it.

How the money usually flows on an approved RCV claim

1 · First check (ACV)
Your insurer issues the actual cash value up front, minus your deductible.

2 · We complete the roof
Installed to code by GAF-certified crews, documented with photos.

3 · Second check (depreciation)
Once verified, the recoverable depreciation is released to finish the job.

4 · You pay your deductible
That's typically your only out-of-pocket cost.

We're your contractor, not a public adjuster: we document the damage, meet your adjuster on site, and work directly with your insurer. We never negotiate or file the claim for you and we never promise approval — that's the carrier's decision. Every policy differs; check yours.
